Department Overview

The Department of Finance and Banking operates within the Biga Faculty of Applied Sciences. Since the 2019-2020 academic year, we've conducted educational and training activities in our dedicated building on the Prof. Dr. Ramazan Aydın Campus. This building features 21 classrooms, a conference room, and a computer lab. Additionally, students have access to campus-wide facilities like the library and dining hall.

Established in the 2017-2018 academic year as the Department of Banking and Finance, we've consistently appeared in university preference guides with an annual intake of 60 students for full-time and 40 students for part-time programs. Following a decision by the Higher Education Council on March 11, 2020, to standardize department names in the field, our department's name was changed to "Finance and Banking" on the same date. We've been listed under this name in preference guides since the 2020 YKS [national university entrance exam] admissions cycle.

Our department boasts a qualified faculty team with 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 3 doctoral faculty members, and 1 research assistant. To learn more about our esteemed professors, please visit our Academic Staff page [link to Academic Staff page, if available].

The curriculum is designed to equip students with a strong foundation. The first two years focus on core subjects like finance, banking, business administration, and economics. As students progress through the program, they take courses that transform this theoretical knowledge into practical skills and competencies.  To gain practical experience, a mandatory 45-day summer internship is required for graduation.  This internship can be completed after the fourth semester. Additionally, high-performing students have the opportunity to pursue voluntary internships.
